TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Lancetilla Botanical Garden
Founded by the world-renowned biologist Wilson Popenoe, who equipped it as an experimental center for tropical plants. It currently has one of the best samples of exotic species from the world tropics in Latin America.
Garifuna Village of San Juan
It is a Garífuna town located by the English in the 19th century. This is another site with long white sand beaches and coconut palms. It is common to enjoy the artistic intervention of musical groups that perform a variety of Garífuna dances.

It is a romantic corner with trees on the seashore, something more private for a weekday. It is close to the Laguna Negra and the Triunfo de la Cruz.
Punta Sal National Park or Jeanette Kawas
It is geographically located 35 km west of the city of Tela. The Janette Kawas National Park was created in 1994 through Legislative Decree No. 154-94.
The Lagoon of the Micos
It is the part of the park most populated by birds, during the summer 350 different species have been reported.
Izopo Point
Wetland that attracts world ecotourism, a wildlife refuge located at the eastern end of the Tela bay, just 12 kilometers from the city, this wildlife refuge receives its name from the Izopo hill, which is right over the sea.
Colorado Village
Of great historical value founded in 1890, the same as the Triunfo de la Cruz Garífuna community, where it is possible to observe remains of the boats and cannons used by Cristóbal de Olid, during his landing in Honduras, as part of the conquest Spanish.
Garifuna Museum
The Garífuna Museum opens a window to the cultural richness of the Garífuna people. This socio-cultural group has resided in Honduras since 1787.
